View Full Version : the most painless, but best recording software..
what, in your opinion, is the easiest multi-tracking recording software on the market today?
other than soundrecorder..er.. jk, i'd say cool edit 2.0.

Sonic Foundry Vegas Video or Audio. Either one. Vegas Video is Vegas Audio with full support for intesive video editing as well. Cool Edit Pro is very easy to use and Powerful as well. I have it too, and I like it, but Vegas is my first choice for Multitracking.

I have to say ProTools...LE is functional, flexible & very easy to use.
naaaaah.. pro tools is a bitch. it took me too long to get the hang of it, but then again it's all about personal preference.
i havn't used vegas yet. i'll check it out.

Pro Tools LE. Compared to some of the other majors (like Logic or even DP, which I use), LE is cake.
The only problem with Vegas is that fact that it doesn't have the same kind of widespread pro-level plug-in support as some others.

Would you anyone here recommend Pro Tools LE as a good choice for a first software sequencer / recorder?
I am in a dilemma..i have checked out cubase and logic and have always thought that they are very hard to 'look at'..is Pro Tools a little easier or better yet..SIMPLER to work with?
And also, which one out of these 3 has the best implementation of MIDI alongside AUDIO? (For a relative beginner)
I would be working out my midi tracks on Yamaha Motif synth, i want to be able to send these tracks easily to one of the above software program and then have them work alongside AUDIO with ease...I have heard that on one of these programs you can EDIT AUDIO while it is playing! That sounds great! which one??
thanks..

I think Cubase vst would be the best choice. It is very user friendly, and unlike BlackOctopus I have found it very easy to look at.
