Is anybody out there using the RME Hammerfall or Multiface combo with a Mac? How is it working for you? I'm considering getting the Multiface +pci combo with a Mac G4 800mhz running Logic. I was also thinking about some of the firewire interfaces. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks for any feedback.

I just wanted to repeat the question since I'm considering the same.....
Anyone with experience using both Hammerfall and Macs?

I tried the Digiface/PCI card combo with Digital Performer, but adat sync is not supported in that program. Also, track I/O naming scheme takes up way too much space, so if your program works like DP with horizontal track I/O windows, you're going to be losing a lot of screen space. Great card though. Not much of a hit on the processor, and it just won the Electronic Musician best of 2002 award for its class.

ADAT sync is supported by DP.
"In the PCI-324 console, you set the Clock Source to PCI-324 ADAT for sample accurate sync. You must have the sync out of your last ADAT connected to the Alesis 9-pin jack on your PCI-324 card. The Sample Rate seting must match the sample rate of your Adats. Digital Performer and AudioDesk users must choose "Sample Accurate" in the Receive Sync window found under the Basics Menu.
If you don't have a BRC, or an MTPAV for use with MMC, you will put Digital Performer or Audio Desk in slave to external sync, hit record, and hit play on the ADAT. ***Note the above scenario only applies to AudioDesk or Digital Performer, which currently are the only programs that offer sample accurate sync via the ADAT sync port. If you are using another program, you will have to also send MTC or SMPTE to the program while it derives the timebase from the ADAT sync connection. "
Possibly though ADAT Sync isn't supported through DP with that card.
You can set up your columns in the sequence window so that less ID info is shown.

Thanks. The RME tech said the only programs that support adat sync with the RME are Cubase and Nuendo. I use adat sync with my 828 and DP, but was looking for more lightpipe I/O. Obviously, if I want adat sync with DP I'm going to have to get a 2408, but I'd heard great things about RME and wanted to try one.
