These are my system specs..

P4 2 Ghz intel
Intel Motherboard d845hv
nvidia 64mb ddr vga card
Creative audigy platinum Ex
1024 sdram
seagate 40gb baracuda HD (7200rpm)
Windows Xp Operating system
Logic Platinum 5.1

I used to work with the creative platinum drv 2, which actually wasnt good enough for the logic. and so, seeing that audigy is 4 times more faster and supports asio and the fact its prettty cheap also, made me buy that one, as a final resort to my recording problems.

well, after installation with none of the crap that comes with creative, with just the suuround mixer and stuff. i started logic, where i gave the option of asio and unticked the pcav facility.

i opened up a file made before which was in 44khz, which it asked to be converted to 48khz. and then i played it, but the cursor and sound just played for a sec and stopped saying system too slow and over load with ref no.s such as 10011, 10009..

first of all, ive spend a lot of money into this setup and iam just feeling like a big loser if i dont get things right.

So, if you could please tell me, what is the best options i could try out, it would be very kind of you..

Thanks

Sounds like you have only 1 hard drive on your system. You might want to consider a second one for storing the audio. Things can get "interesting" if you're trying to record to the same disk that your filesystem resides on.

you also might want to check out compatability issues with your motherboard and the Creative card. i know i have to set my system up all wierd to make things work with my LiveDrive

I'm afraid the problem is more severe...

I've been struggling with the same problem to find out in the end that there are two kinds of asio drivers asio 1 and asio 2. Audigy comes with #1 and guess what: logic needs #2.
If you still can, trade your card for the audigy platinum Ex 2; this one comes with the right drivers.

I hate creative...
