Hi all! :bunny:

I'm the new moderator for the CONTROL ROOM. I am a sales engineer at Sweetwater, but I'm also a live sound and recording engineer. I worked in various studios, theaters, clubs, churches, etc. in Texas before finding my way up to Indiana and Sweetwater. Currently, I also run sound at my church (http://www.hccfw.com), and teach audio engineering at The Canopy School of Worship (http://www.canopyworship.com).

I've also been the moderator of the Open Mic Forum (http://www.sweetwater.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=41) for awhile now.

Happy posting! No hitting below the belt.

What happened to Brad? Too busy annoying people on the usenet newsgroups?

Brad's still around. You'll probably see his posts here. Just taking a break from moderating.

Hi Jeff. I wonder how many times we've spoken on the phone. I've spoken to 'a' Jeff a number of times, cuz Brad Slate, my SE, wasn't available, though last names weren't given. There may be several Jeff's working at Sweetwater, though. I always appreciate the very prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous service. You guys are exemplary.

Kind regards,
Patrick Brown in South Louisiana aka PaddyOpossum

Believe it or not, there are actually 9 "Jeff"s at Sweetwater, plus 2 "Jeffrey"s, and one "Geoff."

I think we have actually spoken before, though. Don't you have an Alesis HD24?

Yep Jeff, That would be me. I got the Alesis ADAT HD24 from y'all. Brad Slate is my SE. After 21 months with a Tascam 788 I wanted something with more tracks. So I wound up getting pretty much a whole new system,,from Sweetwater, mostly, cept for a couple of items you don't carry,,the JoeMeek VC1Qcs, and another RNC comp. I broke down and got the Focusrite Trak Master and the NT1,,a day before the special ran out. I got a Lexicon MPX200, and a Studio Projects C1, and some racks. It all started when I got the Tannoy 800A's. :D That was in June,,and I just kept going. Figured I might as well get it all, or I wouldn't be happy. I'm using a PreSonus BlueTube BlueMax rig, from the older setup, as well as an AudioBuddy and an RNC, for the drums and bass going into inputs 5-8, run those on tracks 13, 14, 15, 16, the two prefader stereo channels, and then I change normaling on the fly,,works great,,and the other four units are two JoeMeek MQ3's, the JoeMeek VC1Qcs, and the Focusrite. I take them straight into the Alesis, inputs 1-4, so the Spirit M12 is just fine,,don't need an inline setup, and I compress the whole thing with another RNC thru the mix inserts. I also got DP3 so my drum machine would have a beat clock,,but it's good for alot more than that,,,I had been using AudioDesk anyway, got that from you last year, with the MOTU828,,so it was an upgrade. I got the Spirit because of its S/PDIF out, cuz I was used to making masters out of the 788 with the MOTU. Otherwise I'd have to burn CD's and rip em into the iMac,,much easier straight in. Only the stuff you don't carry is what I got elsewhere, and some of the things I had from the old setup,,mikes, etc.An NT3 I got from you last year, plus a Marshall MXL600, and an SE5000 tube mike, and an older NT1 I bought in Paris summer 2001.

The HD24 has quite a nice sound. Just have to learn how to use this new stuff, with the same facility I did with the 788. These front ends will take some learning.

I still don't feel I've got the MPX200 quite set up as well as it could be,,,though I'm making it work.
