My name is Jonathan and I currently own the Mbox and use my laptop with a seperated hard drive just for my music to record my tracks from the Roland MC 909. An error I keep getting is Reduce size of buffer to prevent interruption ... Any time i try to record a new track or just playback a session this comes up. Then when I reduce the size, mins later it tells me to increase the size of the buffer. I end up going back and forth for ten mins with no solution and im really getting mad cause i have tried everything and nothing works. If anyone has any ideas or solutions it would be greatly appreciated

Sounds to me like you need a faster computer.

Could also be something funky with digidesign and certain computer component compatability, etc.

I used to get this pair of errors quite a bit, then realized that the p.o.s. onboard soundcard in my computer was still enabled, along with one that had been installed for video production in the computer's previous life. I disabled both devices and have not seen the message since.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why you might get this error depending on your configuration, but my understanding of it is that often it's caused by some other program butting in and trying to appropriate CPU cycles. In my case it appears to have been one or both of the sound cards. I don't know why this would happen but it made a difference.

You might try the Digidesign User Conference on the digi web site, this has come up fairly often there.
