I have a new eMac, Digital performer 4, a nice midi controller, a guitar, microphones, and microphone cords. What do I need to record guitar parts and vocals?

You need an audio interface of some sort.
Which one you need is dependant on a few things.
You'll have to get something that is Firewire or USB based as the eMac has no PCI slots. Will you only be recording guitar? How many tracks do you plan to record at one time? Just the guitar, maybe vocals...are you mic'ing all the instruments in a band? Figure out how many inputs you need in total, also figure out what type you need, XLR or 1/4" trs. You have a few options.
If you have a Sales Engineer at Sweetwater give them a call and they can help walk you through your options. If you don't have one currently, you can call in and we can get you hooked up with someone who will be happy to help. Just call the 800 number below.

Evan,
First of all, I'm sure you're using Digital Performer 3.x, but that's not really important.
Ok, to answer your question, if you've got a little project mixer, you can use a dual 1/4" to stereo mini cable and use the mic/line in on the eMac.
That will get you started.
If you don't have a project mixer, than you'll need a converter with mic preamps in it. You could use DigiDesign's mBox, Motu's 828, Tascam US424 (not sure of model number) etc. All of which could be found in the recording section of the online catalog.
Hope this helps.
