New Computer- Will Travel !

Hello everybody,
My name is Rick , from Vancouver Canada. I am a guitar/bass player and just recently purchased a computer for home recording. So much to learn, so little time to spurn--. I would greatly appreciate a little guidance in this PC game of recording. I would need advice on Drum Loops to Amp Modeling to mic/line preamps. What to do(?)

Hey i got a great start from the magazine called "Computer Music" its a little expensive becuase its an import from the UK ($14 and issue) but its well worth it. Every moth they include a getting started section that really does tell you most of the basics and the best gear and software that theyve found to date.

Let me delineate between some issues for you. The first is figuring out what you want to do. (Which you will need to do) The second is figuring out which equipment will accomplish those goals for you. (This is where Sweetwater would be a great resource) Lastly, figuring out how to use the equipment and accomplish your goals. (This is where the forum or someone who specializes in training would be valuable.) Let me know if you need recommendations in any of these categories.
