View Full Version : HELP! cleaning velour case interiors?

So over the weekend my basement floods with raw sewage...that's right, we're talkin' fetid human waste two inches deep.

My road cases are all kept in the basement (mercifully NOT with any of my basses in them!), standing on end. So now the bottom two inches of plush velour lining, as well as the foam cushioning underneath, is saturated with crap!

Does anyone have any practical suggestions on how to clean the velour interior of guitar cases? If I don't find a solution quick I'm gonna have to replace three instrument cases; even the grimiest of roadies isn't gonna touch these stinky things!

Oxy-Clean?

Oh wait. You posted this over a year ago! What did you end up doing?

There is not way to clean raw sewage from the interior. I work in insurance and when dealing with this type of contamination, there is no real safe way than to discard.

Typically, something that is non-porous can be disinfected, your velour and padding has to go. I would buy a new case !!
