I would like to create music on my computer using existing sound loops and maybe a keyboard. I would like to purchase Propellarheads Reason software, but I was wondering if there is any better choices. I downloaded the Reason demo and it looks very complex. I think it would take me forever to learn it (not having any mixing experience). I'm willing to try to learn it, but somebody might have a suggestion of a simpler or cheaper program that does similar things.
Thanks for your help!

Get an IBM compatible and Acid and work with loops to your hearts content. Then make new loops of your own so your music sounds like you, not East West, BT, or anyone else. Or find something like Acid for the Mac and do the same.

reason, all the way. once you get used to the workings of it, it really becomes no sweat. you just gotta get your hands dirty. i even sometimes take stuff from reason and bring it into acid pro to cut it up and do more things to it.
