I am running DP3 on a mac dual gig processor and after I mix all my tracks to the way I like it to sound, I bounce it to disk and then the song sounds different then the way I mixed it. You cannot recognize the pans and volume changes. I bounced to stero channels and it sounded good, but you cannot burn to disk with stereo channels...or maybe you can. Can anyone help me out on this subject. Thanks

bielerjd,
If you're satisified w/ the stereo mix, and you don't intend to do any final mastering, you're basically ready to burn the stereo mix.
This could depend on a couple of factors ie. what CD burning software do you use? I use adaptec jam, which will burn either SD2, interleaved SD2, AIff, etc. So in other words, once I performd my stereo (mix) bounce, i don't necessarily have to export the stereo (mix) bounce as a SD2 file from the soundbites window, i can just tell jam i want to burn the bounced file (aiff/interleaved).
Or, a few ways of dealing with this from DP. I'm still using 2.72, but I'm sure the process is still the same in 3. When you did the bounce to disk, when you went to audio on the menu bar, which option did you choose for import? a. do not import, b. add to sounbites window, c. add to sequence? If to perform your CD burn you want to export the mix from DP (via the soundbites window), and you did either b. add to sounbites window (or) c. add to sequence; in the soundbites window you simply click (highlight) your mix soundbite file, choose export selected bites, choose export as SD2, name the file, and tell Dp where you want to export the SD2 file. Now you're ready to burn that file. I you didn't bounce your mix to the session, or the soundbite window, you could simply open the soundbite window, choose add soundbite which you'd want to add your mix bounce you just did, and now do the before mentioned step for export as SD2.
Like I say, using Jam I sometimes never do all these last steps mentioned; I just do the bounce to disk, and tell jam to burn the interleaved (split stereo) aiff. But if I'm making a critcal CD redbook master for a dulicating house, and I want everything correct & no room for errors, I always will do the export as SD2 from the soundbites window.
Dude, I hope some of this made sense? It's a little hard to explain, and perhaps someone else has a different procedure all together?
Good luck
KH
