saffire crash

any saffire users ever have this problem . . . ? according to focusrite my saffire is stuck in boot mode and needs to be sent to repair shop to unlock with special unlocking software . . . the repair personnel suggest my firewire chipset is not of a Texas Instruments flavor which might be contributing to problem. Any thoughts or suggestions from this knowledgeable forum ? bobby

I'm not sure about the issue with the Saffire, but most audio interfaces do perform better on TI Firewire chipsets.
