Hi all - I recently purchased a new computer for digital audio. It's an AMD athlon 2100+ with 1 GB RAM. I'm using cakewalk SONAR XL 2.0 and a midiman M-Audio Delta 66 Omni Studio setup. Today I started going through the SONAR tutorials to learn how to use the program. When I recorded audio with my microphone through the Omni, it was all jumbled on playback - pops and clicks constantly. I then tried to record again, and got the "blue screen of death" - my computer locked up, and displayed this message:
LIRQ not lesser or equal
and I had to restart. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I fooled around with putting the soundcard in different PCI slots, but every slot except for one put it on IRQ 11, the same as the video card. One slot (the one it's in now) put it on IRQ 5, which was the same as the USB port in the front of the computer, so I figured the best thing to do was to leave it there and disable the USB port, so as far as I know, the soundcard is the only thing on IRQ 5.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

I had some facts wrong last time - this time windows locked up with the message:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
while I was playing some music through the soundcard. Generally, though, the soundcard seems to work smoothly, which is why I'm confused that it has locked up twice. Also - I can't seem to get the monitor mix for the Omni Studio to work correctly - I've got my Mic plugged into line 1 and my keyboard plugged into line 2, I followed the directions in the manual, went to the website and followed the tutorial directions *exactly*, but I can't seem to get the keyboard to be in the center of my headphones' stereo field no matter what I do. It is always only in the right ear. After some tinkering, I was able to get the microphone into the center of the stereo field, but that required raising the volume level of the right side (it previously came through only on the left). Anyway, my main concern is that I followed the Midiman website tutorial exactly and still didn't get the results I should have. Any ideas? Thanks!

This is something I have not heard of before. It is definitely a technical support issue which are very specific and hard to address in this method. Did you purchase the items from Sweetwater? I'd be happy to get you in touch with one of our techs if so. Otherwise you'll probably have to contact the manufacturer directly to see if they can help. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

also contact the maker of the mother board. you can get prety interesting problems with equipment non-compatability. for example using a Sounblaster live platinum with the live drive and a motherboard that uses the VIA266 chipset with cuase you to not be able to transfer data from removable(cd,floppy, dvd) and non-removable(hard drive) if they are on different IDE cables.
sometimes you can download a simple 3k file to fix the problem
later

PS check out the Via wb site for more info on that

What OS are you using? Windows 2000 has issues with ACPI vs. Standard PC mode. It is recommended that you either use Win 98, Win XP or if you're using 2000, change your computer from IRQ sharing mode (ACPI) to Standard Mode.
If you're using XP or Win 98\98SE, then perhaps it's a VIA chipset problem, which is a known problem with some M-Audio cards. There is a fix for this as mentioned. CHeck www.midiman.com and of course, the VIA site.
I just upgraded to XP and it works great, in default IRQ sharing mode..it's apparently implemented much better in XP than it was in 2000.
Also, be sure there is not an eprom problem...this happened to me with my Delta 1010, which caused loud buzzing as soon as the equipment was turned on...but M-Audio fixed that free of charge (and quickly, too).
