I was one of the lucky few that got an update on my Opcode Galaxy Plus editor/librarian. I was able to download the last version that required an challenge respone type of copy protection. I was able to install it successfully to my Mac G4. I still think it's the best editor/librarian out there. It serves me well because I have new and old sound modules, drum machines, and synths. I think Unisyn is a joke that was basically abandoned by MOTU. Being a DP user, I'm not familiar with Sound Diver. I'm not sure it supports all my sound devices.
I'm considering upgrading to a faster Mac G4 and here's my caviat with Galaxy plus. I just don't know how I can install Galay to my new Mac since I can't get a response to my challenge from the now (THANKS TO GIBSON) non exsistent Opcode.
I think Gibson should offer Galaxy plus as a free download to Opcode's former end users. It would show some kind of good faith from Gibson. At the very least, it should offer a download and the response to the challenge to the latest version of Galaxy on it's site or Opcode's site which is still up (with a 2001 date).
Anybody out there who feels the same as I do about this subject? I'm sure there are still some former Opcode users that would like to get SOME kind of support from Gibson. Let's e mail Gibson, send letters to Keyboard, EQ, EM, and all the other music publications. Wattaya say!!
