Hello All,

I wanted to let you know that NetworkSound, the company that designed and manufactures the core component of Gibson's new HD 6X Pro digital guitar, has launched a new line of digital snakes called "Mamba". The snakes are entirely plug-and-play, and are based on NetworkSound's MediaNet protocol, featuring built-in CAT-5 redundancy, multiple clock support, and latency of less than 200 microseconds (I2s-I2S). There are a few different models available, including 32X16, 16X8, line-level, and mic-pre, with the 16X8 line-level "Mini-Mamba" model priced at $1,299.

NetworkSound is a spinout of 3com, and was one of the pioneers of audio over CAT-5/6 technology. We provide custom solutions based on our MediaNet transport protocol, which is capable of carrying audio, video and control over a single CAT-5/6 cable. Because of its ability to synchronize multiple unique clock sources, MediaNet is the only CAT-5/6 media transport protocol capable of synchronously transporting multiple compressed and uncompressed audio and video streams, over a standard CAT-5/6
network.

We're interested in your feedback! Please let us know what you think of the Mamba. Are there any particular features you'd like to see included in a digital snake product?
