Keyboard Mouse Question

Setting up the rig. I'm thinking of using this device for Keyboard and Mouse distribution:

It's a Belkin USB 4x4 USB Peripheral Switch. It comes with proprietary software that I think I'll install on my Business Partition, but not install on the Audio Partiton. The box can be programmed manually.


Any thoughts?

I've used kvm switches like this in the past, but I might avoid using a USB type, as it may mess with your audio interface connection and/or MIDI stuff. Also, I prefer the switches that "soft switch" i.e.; a key combo like <insert> <insert> <up arrow> to move up to the previous computer and <down arrow> to go to the next.

The reason I bring up the USB issue is that I've seen things as simple as using a USB hub to run a few dongles cause pro tools to fail.
