do yall usually scoot the waveform by ms. backwards on yur room mics to match the close miking of the instument or drums etc.?is this true haas effect?how should i treat this? i like a modern tight sound most the time.but i also like dimension and space naturally preferably.

Depends.
If it sounds really "phase-ey" then I usually scoot them around (just bya few milliseconds of course).
Sometimes though, it sounds like a nice healthy early reflection. As long as there aren't phase problems, my opinion is that its preference.

I'd also say it depends on the music style. I like for classic rock type stuff to have the reflection, but pop and hip hop don't do so well with it.
But I would agree that it's over all about opinion.

I've done it to acheive a certain sound; for TRUE room tone I'd rather put my room mics back farther away in a great sounding room. :) But for effect, yeah, it can add an interesting flavor to toy with nudging the room mic(s).
