I am running DATs into my Sonar 2 at 48 and need to get sonar to convert to 44.1. I can't find anything in the halp system for doing it...does anybody have an idea?
One idea I have heard is to go analog out from the DAT, but that negates the 'digital' realm...as well as I have a couple of days worth of work allready in the computer at 48.
Thanks!

I can't tell you if Sonar can do it, but you are looking to resample the data. Sound Forge can do it. Resampling will negate some of the advantages you are expecting by keeping the audio in the digital realm. I wouldn't expect a perfect reconstruction at 44.1 kHz. Technically it's not possible to "perfectly" reconstruct the data at 44.1 seeing as you are giving up from 22.05 kHz to 24 kHz, but I suspect that there may be audible differences after the conversion. It is not unheard of for people to do an analog transfer so as not to have to digitally resample. It would depend on how good your analog path is.

Hello Jeff,
I don't know the answer to your question personally. However, I would suggest you contact the people at Cakewalk to answer your question. I have been a customer of their's for years (Almost 10) and I have found them to be most helpful.
These days you can actually email them your question and they will get back to you in a few days. (Compare that to the bad old days of hanging on the phone line waiting for the poor tech support guy to finish with the previous person's problem before he even got to you!!) I have used email lately and the service I've gotten has always been of the highest caliber.
If you're a registered user follow this link: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/SONAR/SRcontact.asp#email
I'm sure what you're asking can be done. . .even if you have to resample it.
Good luck!
