Lets rate the Alesys hard disk recorder.good, bad and why?

Reviews don't seem to mention virtual tracks. Why would anyone buy a hard-disk recorder that doesn't have them? Even if you don't edit, at least you can still have several attempts at the last track when you've filled all the others.

Very valid point about the lack of virtual tracks. One application we seem to be selling them into a lot is for folks who just want a dumb (figure of speech there, no insult intended) multitrack for basic tracks. Then they immediately dump into a DAW and finish the project (overdubs, editing, mixing, etc.) there. For that application the price of the Alesis is attractive and the additional features of other machines aren't that important.
