I was wondering if it was possible to daisychain the Focusrite Octopre, with the Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro?
I own the VoiceMaster Pro, and would love to be able to utilize it with more than one input at once.
I also own the MOTU mkII Interface, which can be daisychained with the same MOTU mkII, or other MOTU Interface models. I love this type of flexibility, and was hoping that I couold do the same with Focusrite products.
If this is "not" possible, what suggestions could one give to be able to record multiple tracks through the VoiceMaster Pro simultaneously?

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks

If you're talking about the 828mkII then you could always make one of your submixes with whatever tracks you want processed go through it and then return it to the 828 and only record that track, but it doesn't leave much flexibility that way.

Technically you could do this on any of the interfaces that have the 4 stereo CueMix submixes.

Just remember that if you do that, then you lose the editability of all the tracks, as they will have become a single track in your sequencer.

To avoid this, you could record the tracks normally, then take the final mix after you edit and run it through the VoiceMaster and then back into the sequencer for the final copy.

Actually what I'm referring to is the ability to record multiple sound sources through my "VoiceMaster Pro".
I realize duriing the recording process I have many options to create "submixes" with the Cuemix software, but that doesn't solve the "input" issue I'm addressing here.
As I said, I would like to know if I purchased the Focusrite "Octopre", could it be configured with the VoiceMaster Pro in order to create multiple inputs going into the VoiceMasterPro? Understood?

Thanks

Unfortunately, the Voicemaster Pro is a mono device, so you can only use it on one source at once. The OctoPre has the same preamp that's in the Voicemaster Pro, but it doesn't have all of the extra features that the Voicemaster Pro does. Still, if you like the sound of the Voicemaster Pro but can't justify buying multiple boxes, the OctoPre is a great way to get that same sound if you can get by with just mic preamps and basic compression.
