Hi folks, simple question here. I've been away from recording for quite a while, and have a slew of DAT tapes I recorded years ago that I'd like to move on to my PC. There must be a cheap interface to slip between the DAT and the PC, right? I was thinking of renting a DAT for a few days to do this. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
If you have an SPDIF input on your PC, that's the way to go - fully digital transfer.

I don't believe I have a SPDIF input....computer is 5 years old. Is there a device that will convert to USB?
Thanks

You need a soundcard with a S/PDIF connection on it and some software that will let you access the S/PDIF inputs. Here is a link for a soundcard.

There may be some freeware out there that you can use.
