I can not seem to set up the mixer window and the edit window on different monitors.. when i click and drag it stops at the end of the monitor. im using Pro Tools 7.3

You need to enable the 2nd monitor in Windows - Display Properties, Settings Tab (IIRC). After that, it's pretty much letting Windows know which is Monitor 1 and which is Monitor 2. Some of the specific setup details depend on the video card & drivers you use. I stretch PT across both monitors, leaving two rows of Desktop icons visible on the left (#1) monitor. I adjust the Edit window so that it shows only on Monitor 1, and the Mix window only on Monitor 2. I've done this with both Nvidia (PT HD) and ATI (PT LE 6.9 - 7.1) cards/drivers and it took 5 minutes to figure out.

oohh okay see i was maximizing pro tools on one screen and trying to a restored mix window to the other monitor.. i understand now.. thank you..
