ok here's the problem. I have a kurzweil2000, an MMT-8 alesis sequencer,an AKAI DPS 12i digital personal studio and ACID PRO3.0 sonic foundry software. I am tring to get my kurzweil to play back from the midi recordings that i do in the acid projects. I know about the midi connections i've studied the manuals for both. I don't have any DLS folders or files. I have e.mailed the acid tech support and they say that i need a midi cable going from my sound card's midi out to my kurzweil's midi in and then configure acid to trigger the kurzweil. I've tried that and it did not work so am thinking maybe it's something in the kurzweil receiving mode that i need to do. In the receiving mode the value is now set at Multi to respond to events on all active channels. What else do i need to do and can you please tell me the configuration that i need to do in order to use everything that i now have? I really could use your expert advice PLEASE!

Manthestan (or should I say - Stan!) Did you purchase ANY of this gear through Sweetwater??? I will gladly get one of our techs to phone you if you did. You ought to just email me directly by clicking on my name at the left...

manthestan:
I would try sequencing your Kurzweil first with a real PC based sequencer. After you get that straight, it should be easier to configure Acid to drive your K2000 or to figure out that Acid is not configurable enough to do such. At least you would know that the K is set up correctly. I don't know how Acid would select banks for your K2000 when it doesn't know they exist.

Just for grins, you may want to try loading an instrument into patch 0 or 1, whichever is first on the K (I haven't messed with a K2000 in over 5 years). Then select the MIDI port in Acid that is physically attached to the K2000 and select Channel 0 Bank 0 Program 0 in Track Properties|Voices. When you attempt to play the sequence back, Acid should tell the K to select instrument 0 on channel 1.

Good luck,
