I seem to remember a few weeks ago someone posting(somewhere) about problems with using midi on Mac OS 9.1. Has anyone else heard of this or is anyone successfully utilizing a midi interface with OS 9.1? I'm currently on 9.0.4, g4/400mhz tower, and i am about to upgrade my OS, and want to make sure i can still use my synths and stuff. Thanks for any input.

Someone will hopefully chime in with more specific info, but we've been selling Macs for a while now that come with 9.1 installed, and they've been working fine for our customer's doing audio and MIDI.
Normally I say don't upgrade unless you have a specific reason you need to. But this particular upgrade appears to be pretty benign toward music applications as far as we can tell.

DAS, thanks for the reply. i'm going ahead and try to ugrade. i agree that having the newest os usually isnt the best way to go, i just know that 9.0.4 has some "issues" with temp files and i guess(?) 9.1 is a little more stable. i will let you know if i have any problems.

I lost all my midi input when I upgraded to 9.1. I was unable to correct it. I went back to 9.0.4 and everything is fine. I have the same,G4/400. GOOD LUCK !

Same machine here. I have had no problems with OS9.2.2 and Midi using a MidiSport
2 x 2 USB interface. Infact, I have had no problems with Midi from 8.1 through to 9.2.2
