I have been wanting to expand my hardware within the specs I have built. I do computer recordings, and am also a DJ/KJ. The program I use to do my DJ/KJ work is PCDJ. It has three players each of which can run on individual channels. I would like to be able to make it that way. So I want a sound card that supports this function. Something in the 6 or more channel range. I would prefer the outputs to be ¼inch jacks TRS or XLR so as to control right and left channels. I will be lining in to a Mackie 14 channel mixer. Can I get a suggestion on the best sound card to use. I have seen a 10x10 card but not sure if that is what I am after.

It seems so hard to choose the right equiptment to do what I want to do. It is either to many bells and whistles or not enough. Thanks for any return input.

In theory the firebox should work for you. If you notice from the picture it has 6 outputs that can be assigned by most programs to be seperate outputs. I haven't tried it with PCDJ but I would assume it could work the same.

In reply to your suggestion, I am assuming the firebox uses the firewire ports as the sound feeds. Otherwise I need to consider something more internal. In the picture of the firebox you had given I see ¼ inputs but that would defeat what I am wanting as you can guess. Maybe I should go into more detail what I am hoping to accomplish. This is going to sound quite overwelming, but I want to use the PCDJ and Cakewalk in conjuction with each other. Obviously running PCDJ as the source of the music and also have 2 or more vocal sources so each is recorded seperately. that way when a recording is done i can redo only one of the three or more recorded parts. Also, when I do a event at my show I can control players individually. By assigning player 1 to channels 1 & 2 player 2 to 3 & 4 and player 3 to Channels 5 & 6. So it is serving a dual function if this makes sense to you.

What i had looked at was the M-Audio Delta 1010LT 24-bit/96kHz 10-in/10-out PCI Recording System with XLR Mic Inputs. The Delta 1010-LT offers all of the interface features you need to record music on your computer, including eight analog inputs and outputs (2 XLR microphone inputs with pre amps), S/PDIF in/out, MIDI in/out, and wordclock in/out.

Of course this would have to be revamped to remove the RCA and solder ¼ jacks onto it. I am confused for sure.
