recording trouble HELP!

Hi i just picked up a motu 896 (not hd) off of ebay and it didnt come with any manual or software. I downloaded everything i need i think, i hooked everything up and the motu seems to be working fine but i cant get any sound on my laptop. I have a toshiba satellite running windows xp with a realtek hd audio card. im using wavelab 4 for software. any suggestions? thanks

Wow suprised you didn't get any replies yet... if you fixed it great.. here's what I'd suggest if you called me...

Right click My Computer and go to Manage. Open the Device Manager, the open "Sound Video and Game Controlers".. Check if any of the icon in there have a yellow exclaimation point. If so.. 2 ideas:

try to update the driver

if that doesn't work.. remove the device, and restart.. when you do you should see a windo saying "new hardware found" and it should automaticly reload the required drivers.
