Hi all,
I make a plan to buy an audio interface soundcard for PC recording. My PC is Pentium III/1 GHz based with 40 GB IDE HDD, 512 MB SDRAM with Intel 815e chipset.

Anyway, after browsing some manufacturer's sites, I found 2 products that close enough to my budget and needs. Both are Aardvark Direct pro 24/96 and Terratec Audio System EWS88MT (cannot found it in Sweetwater).

Then, before I buy any one of them, I want to get any information from any of you that have/ had already used that cards. Any comment are aprreciated.

Please apologize me if my English is not too understandable, I'm not used to speak English everyday... :D

Thank you and regards,
Dharmadi

Go with the Aardvark Pro 24/96 I have it and it works very well with the following programs:

Sonar, Lgoic Platinum 4.8.1, and Cubase VST32.

I must agree... I have the Aardvark 24/96, and have been very pleased with it. The onboard DSP effects and ability to direct monitor all of the inputs make it a great card for the money.

I agree, the Aardvark 24/96 is a superior product but on the new Win2000 / WinXP drivers, they still do NOT have GSIF support for GigaStudio whereas TerraTec's DMX 6fire does have GSIF & Win2000 / WinXP Drivers.

Depends uponm if you're willing to wait...
Aardvark 24/96 has phantom powered mic preamps. TerraTec's DMX 6fire does not.

The Aardvark 24/96 can also coexist with a SB Live Platinum. Not sure about TerraTec's DMX 6fire.

Since WDM driver model and 24 bit depth are extremely important for GigaStudio, a Sound Balster anything should NOT reside in the same PC therefor that not a big deal anymore.

So,
IF you need GSIF NOW, TerraTec. IF you need phantom powered mic preamps NOW, get Aardvark and HOPE GSIF comes soon on new drivers!!!

Aardvark 24/96 is ProAudio. TerraTec's DMX 6fire is ProSumer.

I'd take the risk that Aardvark will issue a GSIF driver for 2000/XP - They support it for Win 98/Me, and being a user of both the aardvark and Gigastudio, take it from me, they work well together!!! I can't imagine they're not going to support the one of the very few applications that give people a real reason to do audio on a PC. I think its just a matter of patience. The ASIO & WDM drivers for 2000/XP have been already released this past week. - Remember... no mixer needed with the 24/96!!!
