Is anyone running a Radeon Mac Edition PCI graphics card on a G4 DP 800 machine, whose stock graphics card is an nVidia AGP card. My system keeps either freezing, or sometimes the screen just won't refresh itself. I am running 9.2.2, and MOTU's Digital Performer 3.0.2 when this happens. I have a ton of RAM, so my guess is that the extensions for the nVidia and the ATI cards are conflicting. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks!

OK, since Monday, I have found an answer to my own question. If you are running Dual Digital LCD Monitors and PCI-based audio interface cards, you will have a conflict. Here's why: PCI audio cards like MOTU's PCI-324, when used with Digital Performer and similar programs, will fight for bandwidth on your PCI bus, as they are on the same bus. If you are using digital monitors, which take a healthy amount of bandwidth, the two PCI cards will fight for this bandwidth, and your program will likely freeze. The solution? Apple just came out with an AGP Nvidia GeForce 4 (available March 2002) as a build to order option for the Dual 1GHz, and hopefully as an upgrade to current Dual Processor G4's. This card has TWO digital monitor outputs (one ADC and one DVI), and as far as I know, is the only card of its kind so far. Use with Dr Bott's DVIator DVI-to-ADC adaptor, this card will run two Apple LCD's without needing any PCI bandwith. Hope this info is useful.
