Was going to build a AMD DAW but someone told me Pent 4 have 400mhz front size bus and 2 mb or 4 mb cache. What motherboard that supports this with DDR Ram. PENT 2200 PROSS. is coming out and the 1800 will be alot cheaper. Want to build something that will last me ,I'm not going to upgrade every 3 months.

That's a pretty broad question. Is this better for doing what? For trying to configure a system for audio, video, playing games? I would assume that you mean audio, but that's not a smart move on my part as we cover so many different topics here.

Just a comment - DDR was not important nor expensive until Intel decided it so. I'm an Intel user since before 430TX chipsets. Got burned on Intel 815 chipset. Oh sure, they fixed it with i815E, but... MTH issue. No dig deal? OEM's said, you're just trying to do too much with your PC's. Sure.
Tried AMD, not happy either. K5's ok. K6's ho hum. And chipsets were messy after socket 7. Tried 1st Athlon's - ceramic cpu's. Ever broke a cpu? No, not burned it, broke it? That will make your blood boil.
Now new AthlonXP' cpu's, new chipsets.. I'm ok with it. More than OK. Intel? What about Intel? Ever try to talk with them @ Comdex? Let them eat cake.
Your Q: Doing Your Research. These guys with Sweetwater do this all day long and are experts. Audio is there business. Computers are my gig. Only PC's, all day long. Good luck on whatever you decide.
Good to see you're going DDR and NOT Rambus. Keep it real!
