i'm currently running a firepod to a 12" g4 1.5 ghz powerbook with 1.25 gb of ram. i record to a glyph hard drive on the same firewire 400 bus using cubase sx2.
i'm looking to a purchase a second firepod to do 16 track recording under an "aggregated device", but i wanted to know if anyone's had experience in a similar configuration. i've posted in various forums and have gotten VERY mixed feedback. before spending the money on the firepod, i want to be assured i can make it work with my set-up.
i've tryed syncing a firepod with an edirol fa-101 and got very bad results. i had drop-outs in the audio, creating uneven parts that fell way behind the location bar. the longer the recording went, the worse the issues got. i've had similar problems recording to slow hard drives, so i'm wondering if it was a sync issue or a hard drive recording issue. any insight would be a big help. thanks!
