I am currently using pro tools 7.0 le and when I press play, the counter doesn't start immediately. It's actually a fraction of a second off but it's annoying especially when I am timing my Voiceover reads.
When I was using Sound forge, it was an automatic and there wasn't any delay whatsoever.
Is there something that I can do to change this to make it more precise?

try lowering the playback buffer...in playback settings

I played around with various levels but it didn't do the trick. There is still a lag. The CPU usage limit is set on 85% and the buffer size 2048 samples.
I can't think of anything else to do.
Any suggestions?

your buffer size is pretty big, you want to lower it, not raise it, to something like 512. either way, if you are getting thown off by fractions of a second, maybe just compensate for that, cause that istn' much time at all

If it's a computer, it has latency. And the music is favored (I hope) over the display.
