View Full Version : A good PCI Firewire card...
Hey all, I'm looking for a good PCI Firewire card to connect M-Audio FireWire 1814 to. The one out here, ADS Pyro PCI 64... is it good? and does it work when connected to a 32-bit PCI slot?
Thanks.

Any Firewire card with a Texas Instruments chipset will work. The ADS Pyro 64 would be my first choice, though. It has been rock-solid in all of our tests. I also would NOT recommend chaining a Firewire interface through a PCI interface's Firewire port. Those additional ports are really designed for external hard drives.

I have been using that ADS card, which I bought here at Sweetwater, with my Presonus Firepod and it has been rock-solid. No problems at all. I definitely recommend it.

The ADS cards are very solid. There the ones that AVID recommends for their video products...so they definetly can handle the workload.
