Help With gear decision

I have the E-MU 0404 pci interface in my home pc.. I have plenty of HD space... I want to be able to cheaply record tracks.. 2 vocals and 2 or 3 instruments. Mostly acoustic guitars.. but sometimes guitar and base or electric guitars.. I need help deciding what other device i might need.. I want to get away with spending very little... something to control levels and have a preamp..I guess.. what do i need that will work well with the E-MU 0404..
