I have a Tascam CD-RW2000 and was wondering if someone could help me with two things? I tried Tascam Technical support and immediatley got transfered to voice mail with no call back.. I don't remember them sucking that bad in a while. And I tried Sweetwaters Tech support got voicemail (after being given the option to wait) and no call back either..

You are supposed to be able to control the digital volume of a source. However, I am not sure if this is only possible when recording via AES/EBU or if it will work with coaxial/optical.. I think it may work with coaxial but I haven't played around with the unit yet (need some cheap CDr's to waist). The reason I ask is because once you select Digital Direct from the menu the option to adjust the digital volume disappears from the menu. However, once you turn it off, you can adjust the digital volume. However, I am not sure if once you put the unit back in digital direct if it remembers that volume or not?

Also, if you are recording a CD from another CD in order to copy the track ID's do you need:

The unit in Sync Mode or

Auto Track selected or

The unit in Sync Mode and Auto Track selected?

Right now I have Auto Track on and I think the unit is still in Sync mode (once I started recording sync mode disappeared from the menu) and it is recording ID's...

Thanks...

one more thing.. what can I use (program) to make index points on a CD.. not just the track ID's, but index points.. I have Jam and Peak but not sure if it is possible on either one..
