I would like to know what bands move you people out there and why? I put this question here on this forum because I really want feedback from Engineers, Producers, and everyone else. What's new that gets your motor goin. What's one of your all-time fav's? What will you hope your kids will still appreciate? This is extremely open, just tell us all what you like about the music you love. I will post my answer a little later.

What really has been moving me lately is the New NickelBack CD. Tracks 2 (How you remind me) and also most new stuff from LinkinPark are all really good. I Just put in the cd, turn up the volume and I am ready for a whole day of sitting in school.

I love stuff that is recorded well. And I guess my idea of recorded well means production that is suitable for an album. If that means really slick N'sync production, or lo-fi Old Man Gloom big analog sound production. Some albums that really excite me production-wise that came out recently:

16 Horsepower - Secret South
Neurosis - A Sun That Never Sets (Steve Albini!)
Zeni Geva - 10,000 Light Years (Steve Albini!)
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Blind Guardian - And Then There Was Silence
Sigur Ros - Aegis
Converge - Jane Doe
In Flames - Colony, Clayman

Michael Matijevic from the band Steelheart is one of the singers I just say "What the F**k" when I hear the old hair band 80's styles. Did he use a rubber band while singing I'll never let you go? I loved Bon Jovi late 80's. Dokken mid eighties. Lots of Billy Joel...esp the Down Easter Alexa.....damn the sound is PHAT! As far as now....I like foo fighters...very unique sound and catchy hooks. Sarah McLaughlin is very pleasant to listen to and I like her sonic sound on cd.
