Session backup in Pro Tools
12/19/2005

It's not uncommon for an artist to ask for a copy of the Pro Tools Session Files after their project has been completed, which is an easy enough task, right. Just be sure you know what version of Pro Tools the artist will be using. To ensure the backup copy can be loaded into a Pro Tools system that's running an older version of Pro Tools, use the "Save Session Copy In…" command in the File Menu. This will allow you to save the Pro Tools session as a file that's compatible with Pro Tools 5.1-6.x, or even older versions. Make sure you also check the box that says "All Audio Files" and you can also check the "Session Plug-in Settings" box to save the settings for the plug-ins that were used.
