Using older Cubase files in new Cubase applications.
11/26/2003

Q: "I'm afraid to upgrade my Cubase system because I don't want to lose all my old sequences. Does the new versions of Cubase open up older Cubase files?"

Cubase SX and Cubase SL can both import older Cubase files (version 3.x and later). From the Import Menu, simply choose the "Cubase Song Import" function and you're set!

These days the vast majority of applications on the market are, in one way or another, designed to be an improvement on another app. Consequently the ability to be able to read files from other apps, whether they are simply older versions of the same program or another "competing" program, has become an important feature and is usually included to varying degrees in just about everything.
