Running Up Against a Windows XP Roadblock
11/14/2008

Q: I recently upgraded the PC my brother gave me to 4GB of RAM. Then I found out that Windows XP has an upper limit of just 3GB (which seems weird to me). What do I have to do to get my PC to access the extra GB of RAM?

A: You'll need to update your PC's operating system to one that operates at 64 bits, meaning Windows Vista x64. You'll also need 64-bit drivers for all your hardware and 64-bit versions of all your software.

Our Customers Say...

My Sales Engineer knows all his products. I can call and ask him anything and he's on top of it. Some other places just want to sell you something, but I've found Sweetwater to be a helpful, professional company to work with.
