Using Boss' Micro BR as an Effects Processor
05/09/2008

The Boss Micro BR - with its ability to record up to four tracks on top of the built-in rhythm pattern track - is a great addition to any gig bag. The COSM presets are extremely cool, offering pro-level modeled amps and effects in an easy-to-use and affordable unit. But did you know that you can use your Micro BR - along with your favorite presets - as an external processor for recordings to be done outside the Micro BR? All you have to do is plug your trusty axe into the Micro BR and run the 1/8" headphone output to the input of an external recording device (an adapter or 1/8"-to-1/4" cable may be required depending on your setup). Plus, this same technique can be used to feed any rhythm tracks you've created inside the Micro BR into a DAW or workstation, through an appropriate interface, of course.
