In reference to our TTOTD on ground quality (3/10/98) inSync reader David C. adds that you should make sure that you plug your equipment in to outlet strips that have power filtration. This will remove "noise" from your AC current and provide clean AC power. While you shouldn't hear the noise, it can sometimes interfere with delicate electronic equipment, and can inject noise into your mix if your device is using the AC ground for its signal ground.
Another reader, Charlie S. adds: "I found an isolator made by Wilkinson (I think) that was developed with RF interference elimination in mind. It was used by mobile TV studios to keep the RF out of audio and cameras. I found one that could handle 100 amps and installed it on the main studio breaker. ALL of the remaining RF on the ground buss went away!"
