All sequencers and DAW have default "views" that are set up from the factory. These determine how things appear on the screen, what you see in a given window, and so on.

But one of the best things you can do to enhance your creative flow with your software is to customize it to your liking. Just about all software allows customization to one degree or another, whether this means setting the color of something or completely changing what you see.

In Pro Tools (whether LE or TDM) check out the View menu. This menu determines what parameters and items are shown in the Mix and Edit windows, as well as which Rulers show up in the Edit window, which sends are visible, what elements are visible in the Transport window, and much more.

Logic Pro is very customizeable. The local View menu at the upper right of the Arrange window offers many options for what appears. For example, you can choose to have transport controls embedded in the Arrange window instead of or in addition to the Transport window itself; you can choose to show the parameter boxes on the left of the Arrange window or just the Channel Strip - there are many, many possibilities. The Transport window is also customizeable; show the Legend (labels for the transport controls and displays), add a position slider to the bottom, and so on.

Live also has a View menu where you can determine what you see in the Arrange view; sends, I/O, track delay, the crossfader, and so on -- you're probably getting the idea! Investigate what appearance aspects you can customize in your DAW. By setting it up so you see what you want to see, you'll find you're able to work faster with less hunting around for information and controls.
