Ten ways to prepare your band for top TV performance #6
01/24/2006

Another in our series of tips on how to best get your band ready to make a television appearance.

Performing to pre-recorded tracks: If you're not sure you can pull of a great live performance under less than optimal conditions, bring a CD of your songs. Generally there will be a CD player in the house that can be cued by the FOH engineer. Make sure you can lip-sync (See WFTD) effectively to the CD. Don't expect that having a CD will bail you out of a bad live performance, however. Even if you're able to play in exactly the same time as the song (highly doubtful without a click track), syncing the CD to your performance in post will still be a problem. Remember those audience ambience mics? You stage sound will have bled into them, which means that it will conflict with your CD track.

Our Customers Say...

I can talk to my Sales Engineer about any piece of equipment, and he always steers me in the right direction. He truly knows what he's talking about, and he never tries to over-sell me on anything. If he worked in the Nashville area, I'd probably owe him about 20 dinners by now!
