Leslie + Vibrato Footswitch Control
01/18/2007

Here's a keyboard performance tip from Daniel Fisher, our Director of Product Optimization: On a number of synthesizers and samplers the speed of the simulated Leslie rotating speaker on organ presets is controlled with the Mod Wheel (CC#1). This is reasonably useful unless you're using both hands on the keyboard and can't reach the Mod Wheel. If your keyboard has a second Footswitch jack (other than the Sustain jack) see if you can assign it to send CC#1. For example, if you own an Alesis Fusion, you can go to GLOBAL/Settings/Controls and set "Footswitch CC#:" to "1". This way you can use either your foot or left hand for Leslie speed. On non-organ presets the footswitch will usually add vibrato which can also be useful if your hands are full.
