Preference File
- In computer systems a preference file is a document that stores certain user selectable settings for a particular application. These settings may range from very simple parameters (such as a default font in a word processor) to every major aspect of the program's operation. This allows the user to be able to customize a working environment and always have the program boot up in a known (and preferred) state rather than having to be configured every time.
