Spotting Session
- In music for movies it is common for the composer, music editor, and director to view a rough cut of the project to discuss and determine when and what types of music might be beneficial throughout the picture. This is known as spotting or as a spotting session. The music editor generally will produce a series of "spotting notes" from this meeting that become a list of cues that later become part of the score.
