Slash Chord
- These are chords played on a guitar in which the lowest note is not the root note of the chord. It's written as a chord symbol in sheet music with the chord, then a slash, then the chord's bass note. A simple example would be an open C major chord with an open E note as the bass note of the chord, written as "C/E." This would typically be played in the lowest (or open) chord position, though it could also be played farther up the neck, as long as E was the bass note.
