Remote Control
A device used to control a machine or apparatus; typically from a distance by radio waves or extended cable. In audio studios, Remote Controls are useful and sometimes necessary so that the sound engineer can remain in one spot while maintaining control over various devices in the studio or in other rooms, such as a machine room.
