Release Trigger
- Almost all sampled sounds play as soon as a specific note is struck (or triggered). On occasion, you need a specific sound to play when you release a note. For example, a harpsichord produces a very distinctive sound as the note is released and the quill-tipped key drops back into the resting position. To duplicate this, the sound designer takes the brief sound of the key dropping into place and uses reverse triggering to send a note-on when a key is released.
