Mounting Ring
- Usually a plastic frame within which humbucking pickups are fitted to the top of the guitar body. A mounting ring typically has two or sometimes three long screws with which the entire pickup can be raised or lowered and sometimes tilted forward or backward. Though commonly made of plastic, mounting rings have also been made of brass and other metails, and there are now after-market upgrade mounting rings constructed of rosewood, maple, walnut, or other hardwoods.
