Luthier/Luthierie
- Deriving its origins from the French, luth (lute), the word luthier describes a craftsman who builds fine string instruments such as violins, lutes, guitars, and so on. In modern times, "luthier" is most commonly associated with builders of acoustic guitars. The craft of string-instrument building is referred to as luthierie.
