Laminate/Laminated
- To roll, compress or cut into thin layers. Plywood is an example of a laminate which is made by gluing several thin sheets of wood together. Many wooden musical instruments are constructed with laminate woods. These allow the benefits of several significantly different woods to be brought together in one instrument. Laminates behave differently than solid woods so the effect on sound may or may not be preferred under different circumstances by different players.
